Course InformationChoose a CourseA list of courses and course descriptions are available on the ESRI Virtual Campus.
How Long Does it Take to Complete a Course? The estimated time for a student to complete a course depends on the course taken and the student's expertise. As an example, the "Learning ArcGIS 9" course ESRI estimates that students may need 16 to 32 hours to complete. Estimated completion times are in the course description. Course ExpirationStudents will have 1 year from the date that their course access code is extracted to complete their course. After the code expires the course will not longer be accessible. Enrollment ProceduresAfter deciding on a course and making sure that requirements have been met (Course Requirements), you must obtain a course access code and ensure you have an ESRI Global Account login and password. ESRI Global AccountBefore accessing a course students must have a user name and password on the ESRI Virtual Campus Web site. This is referred to as an ESRI Global Account. This user name and password are not in any way related to USDA logins and passwords. For instructions on how to create a new account refer to the Create an ESRI Global Account document. Personal Training HistoryThe procedure to request training and include courses into a student’s training history can vary from agency to agency, location to location. Students should always defer to their Training Coordinators for guidance on this. The student may be advised to use AgLearn, fill out a SF 182 training form, or both. The ‘External Training Request’ procedure in AgLearn can be used to request supervisory approval for a Virtual Campus course, and in so doing records the course into a student’s training history.
